Alterations

Guest Travel
Travel arrangements are the responsibility of the guest. C3 do not recommend non-transferable, non-refundable airline tickets due to the possibility of a change in guest plans.  C3 does not assume responsibility for any loss incurred on account of such tickets and highly recommend purchasing trip insurance to avoid a loss. We reserve the right to decline to accept or to retain at any time any person on a tour.

C3 Tour Package Details
Once your final payment has been received, C3 will send a Welcome package to your attention.  This package will include your itinerary, weather updates, hotel specifics, travel info and other trip preparations (what and how to prepare). Trip itineraries are subject to change without notice due to road, weather, or other conditions. Trip itineraries may be adjusted to provide you with the utmost safety while on your trip.

Step one is the registration – that’s you. Step two is showing up. Let California and the C3 staff provide you with an incredible travel vacation. As every single individual assessment of fitness is different, our core expectation is that you are at least reasonably fit and healthy.  By completing the So Cal Reservation Form and submitting initial deposit for your adventure, you are confirming that you do not have any limiting physical condition or disability that may impair you (or our other guests) from participating in or enjoying your California getaway.  C3 clearly states its’ So Cal tours are for ‘all abilities’ however this IS with the understanding that the individual guest is reasonably fit and healthy and has been training for this vacation. Other C3 tours and camp packages will assume that you have read through and understand the activity levels recommended for participation and have chosen a package that suits your athletic ability.
After we receive your full payment and the Welcome package is received, C3 assumes and expects for you to have read and understand all information sent to you in that package. Within this package, we will ask that you inform us of any medical or dietary restrictions, as well as implement our training suggestions before departing for your C3 tour.  Our guests must provide their own bicycle and must wear the proper equipment (ie, helmet/sunglasses) while riding the bicycle.  C3 will make every effort to assist with the maintenance of your bicycle; however, will accept no responsibility for replacing parts while in our care. The key here is fun – we will make any/all necessary changes or adaptations to the tour based on recommendations for change in order to meet the expectations of the guest.

Trip Insurance
We strongly recommend trip insurance. Trip insurance is figured on your trip price, length of stay and your age. This insurance often falls well under $100 per person for a week-long tour; however specific pricing is contingent on the criteria listed above.  Trip insurance offers unique coverage designed to protect your travel investment from unexpected events such as illness or injury, natural disasters, terrorism, bankruptcy of an airline, labor strikes, lost baggage, emergency medical expense, or other circumstances which may cause cancellation.  Per your request, we will provide you with an informative brochure which explains all the details of the insurance.  If you would like to add trip insurance, please contact us.

Terrain

So Cal Tours:

Southern California has some of the best bike riding in the world. The roads are well paved, with shoulders and in most cases have bike lanes in our immediate area. There are some flat roads in the main towns, but what you will experience are the roads not frequently traveled by car – yes, we have those in So Cal.

Climbs: The grades range between 3-5% and spike to 7% occasionally. Rare encounters of 10% grade or greater are short and easily ridden with proper gearing (hence our recommendation for a minimum of 39-35). Most climbs are between 2-5 miles long, however a couple may be 8-9 miles in length.

Descents: What goes up must come down. In Southern California this holds true. Although there will be times when you are at sea level, please note that the Santa Monica Mountain (and all other regional mountain ranges) go up to 3,000 feet high and will drop back down. The grades on these descents are similar to the climbs. Please use extreme caution when descending if you are not accustom to such extreme.

Ability Levels
The C3 definitions of tours and camps are just that. All cycling activities will range between 3-6 hours of riding, will vary in speed (depending on your adventure) and will include frequent rest stops for fueling the mind, body and soul.

Tours:

Camps:

C3 Tours are for riders of all abilities. This is with the understanding that each rider participates in the sport of cycling and rides regularly as a form of fitness. These tours will have an average speed of 14-16 mph and will stop frequently. These tours are NOT for extreme novice cyclists; however they are for cycling enthusiasts.

C3 Cycling Camps will focus on developing cyclists within a certain realm. Some camps focus on climbing, whereas other camps may focus on racing, mountain biking or junior only racing.
